From the day of its establishment till today, this great institution has remained a manifestation of the beautiful blend of knowledge and wisdom, morality and training, spirituality and leadership.

The purpose of its foundation was not merely to impart education but to promote a comprehensive system of faith, knowledge, character, and service to humanity. Here, along with education, such religious and moral training is provided that molds the students into faithful, practicing, upright, and influential individuals. Darul Uloom Rahmaniya, in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah, is preparing such scholars and reformers who can play an effective role in guiding the Ummah, serving knowledge, and reforming society.

First President: Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Ali Mongiri (RA)

Thinker of Islam, Reformer of the Ummah, and the embodiment of knowledge and action, Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Ali Mongiri (RA) — the founder of Nadwatul Ulama.

His spiritual insight, scholarly depth, and reformative thought laid the intellectual foundation for the establishment of Rahmaniya. His mission was to awaken religious consciousness and create scholarly balance within the Ummah, and this very spirit is deeply rooted in the temperament of Darul Uloom Rahmaniya.

Life and Services of Maulana Muhammad Ali Mungeri (RA)

Maulana Muhammad Ali Mungeri (1846 – 1927) was one of the renowned scholars, reformers, and founders of Islamic movements in the Indian subcontinent. He was the founder of Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama, Lucknow and a great standard-bearer of the Movement for the Reform of the Ummah.

He carried forward the mission of Hazrat Mongiri (RA) with utmost sincerity. He strengthened the administration of the institution, organized the curriculum and system, and took deep interest in the religious and moral training of the students. During his era, Darul Uloom Rahmaniya achieved distinction in both scholarly reputation and spiritual influence.

Life and Services of Hazrat Maulana Syed Shah Lutfullah Rahmani (RA)

Introduction and Lineage

After the demise of Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Ali Mungeri (RA), the founder of Khanqah Rahmani, on 13 September 1927, Hazrat Maulana Lutfullah Rahmani (RA) was appointed as the Sajjada Nashin (spiritual successor) of Khanqah Rahmani, Munger.

He carried forward the system of spiritual training and reformation initiated by his predecessor. Later, Hazrat Maulana Minnatullah Rahmani (RA) succeeded him as the head of the Khanqah.

Hazrat Maulana Ahmad Wali Faisal Rahmani (May Allah bless him) was unanimously elected in October 2021 as the Eighth Amir-e-Shariat by scholars and representatives of the community.

His election infused new energy and direction into the Imarat-e-Shariah, making it more dynamic and effective.
